Having completed the main part of the false keel at the stern, that left a little gap to fill at the front end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made up a piece to fill the gap – three layers of Iroko. I needed to allow for the angle of the lead keel not matching the curve of the bow meeting the keel and cut the required profile with my band saw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The piece glued in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, the lead keel is a little out of shape starboard side at the front. It wasn’t enough to notice before married up to the boat, but enough to need filling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below the picture shows strips of wood filling the “gap”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in the photograph below, you can just see that I have drilled the hole for the keel bolt. I did that after it was fixed in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
