Finally. I have cut the last strip to shape and fixed it in position. No more planking to do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started planking in March 2022. That only took me 9 days short of a year – a bit of a slow process, but in my defence there were 112 planks of which 88 where 2 planks with a scarf joint to provide the length. The planks are primarily fixed with epoxy resin, but also have 680 Gripfast nails and 326 screws holding them in place while the epoxy sets. I generally added 2 planks per day working on the boat, so I guess I must have worked in the boat shed about 56 times in the last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have 3 strip planks left over after finishing. I would never have attempted to estimate that closely. As well as, of course, a pile of offcuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
