With the capping of the skeg and stem in place, the next step was to plane the skeg capping and add an epoxy cove between the keel\/deadwood and the hull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stem capping needed to be plained to match the hull and then nicely rounded off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which left me with a hull (nearly) ready for sheathing. But if you look at the next two pictures, you will see the gaps between the strip planks. I decided that a coating of filler (epoxy with low density filler) would be a good idea to fill the gaps as well as any dents or low spots in the strip planks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next few pictures show the stages of painting on a coat of epoxy, spreading on the filler and then sanding most of it off again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
