I think perfectly normal feelings when you have been working on a boat for &#8220;X&#8221; years and it is time to unscrew from the building frame, lift and turn her over &#8211; 600+ Kg of wood and resin.  And today was the day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To reduce the risk, I called in the experts.  Well, my brother in law had never turned a wooden boat, but has a lot of experience (and equipment) for lifting.  He brought along some help and equipment &#8211; chain hoists, strops and gantry kit. It even looks like I work quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actually it was much easier than expected. The carpet allow us to rotate the boat once it was lifted by the strops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The photograph below shows the boat sitting on blocks, but still held by the strops so that I can build a cradle underneath. The chain hoists allow me to adjust the levels laterally and fore and aft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now being upright, allows me to tale photographs of the top and interior.
