Having removed the surplus bulkhead pieces and “filleted” the joints, the next stage is to finish the inside surface of the hull. This is done now because it would be difficult, if not impossible, once the various compartments have been created by fitting berth and seat tops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The start of this stage is sanding to get a decent surface and remove the epoxy that squeezed through or dripped. The photos below show the sequence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So that is the first pass done. I have at least the same amount of work to get it ready for a couple of coats of epoxy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than half of the sawdust is collected in the sander’s own collection bag. The rest I vacuum up with my Henry. I decided it was probably time to empty Henry – All that wood turned to dust!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
