Yesterday, I invested in a visit to the boat show. Not to check out the plastic fantastics. Not even to review all the rigging and fittings I will ultimately need for the gaffer. No. Satellite, the Golant Gaffer built by David that I had visited a few years ago was on show as part of the Old Gaffers Association offering. Having another opportunity to crawl over and inspect Satellite was too good an opportunity to miss. And of course talking with David about other building challenges and a few areas where he diverged from the plans.
You can see Satellite in the picture in the foreground.
At the boat show I also had to chat to the people at Wessex Resins on how to mix larger batches of epoxy without it going up in smoke, and have a good look at other wooden boats at the show.
