Keel bolts are good. The stop the keel from falling off. Unfortunately they need keel bolt holes which could allow water in. When they are 20mm steel they also take a lot of effort to saw to size. Having put in a couple of hours of effort I felt like posting evidence of the work!
I will leave sealing the keel bolt holes to another day!
