Having completed the main part of the false keel at the stern, that left a little gap to fill at the front end.
I made up a piece to fill the gap – three layers of Iroko. I needed to allow for the angle of the lead keel not matching the curve of the bow meeting the keel and cut the required profile with my band saw.
The piece glued in place.
Unfortunately, the lead keel is a little out of shape starboard side at the front. It wasn’t enough to notice before married up to the boat, but enough to need filling.
Below the picture shows strips of wood filling the “gap”.
Below all done except for a bit more fairing.
And in the photograph below, you can just see that I have drilled the hole for the keel bolt. I did that after it was fixed in place.
