I am making steady progress. Every visit to the shed adds another two planks.
The closer to the keel I get, the more twist the planks have. At the stem, planks are vertical, while at the transom planks are now horizontal. I have shown in photographs below clamps being used to get the right twist in the plank to allow fixing into place.
And now a couple of photographs to show progress.
To take stock, I decided I should put numbers the work to date. Here is my status:
- 50 strip planks scarfed and fixed in position
- 558 pilot holes drilled
- 230 screws inserted
- 328 grip fast nails hammered in and countersunk
- 10Kg of resin applied
That made me feel better!
