Making the floors

In boat building terms, the floors are like floor beams. They provide strength at the bottom of the boat. On the Golant Gaffer, the floors are made of Iroko hardwood and glued to the bulkheads.

The piece of Iroko sized to become floors (and other parts) was too thick for my little hand circular saw, so it was back to manual labour to cut off the necessary length.

Fortunately, my table saw could cope for cutting down to the width I needed to feed through my thicknesser to produce 2 nice lengths of planed wood.

And then, after taking the shapes from the bulkheads, it was back to the bandsaw in my home workshop to cut out the final shapes
