Lifting Frame Removed

Removing the lifting frame was definitely a three man job. Happily I managed to get some help today and hey presto – no lifting frame.

I have lots of room around the boat to prepare wood and, even better, fewer beams to hit my head on while working on the inside.

The main objective of having the boat quite high is to allow plenty of room for fitting the lead keel. But it also brings the advantages of lifting the boat above my normal working height for sawing, planing etc. It also means I am closer to the lights while working inside. Unfortunately, it also means I get more exercise climbing steps to get in and out of the boat.

Now, back to sanding….
